Spring 2013
When I decided to winter in Florida this year, my plan was to return to Ohio in the middle of April. Now, I’ve had a slight change in plans that may be helpful to any school that might have wanted me to come in for an Author Visit, or Nonfiction Writing Workshop program in the month of March. Because of a family commitment, and a request to lead a writing program for young writers in Clarke County on March 8th, I will be in Ohio from March 5th through the 13th. My schedule would permit scheduling another program, or two, on Wednesday, March 6th, Thursday, March 7th, Monday, March 11th, or Tuesday, March 12, 2013. And best of all, I would be willing to extend a special price of $600.00 for a one-day program, or $1,000.00 for a two-day program on those dates (plus round-trip mileage)! I have a feeling that those dates are not going to be available for very long, so if you have an interest in an Author Visit, Nonfiction Writing Workshop, or combination program for your school, please contact me at your earliest convenience. And don’t forget that I am still available for programs from the middle of April until the end of the school year, but those dates are filling fast, too.
Winter 2013
This winter, I'll be headed south to sunny and warm Florida. I'm excited about having the opportunity to introduce my books and adventures to the students in Broward Co. and beyond this winter! I'll be returning to Ohio in the spring!

Jack Hanna features Frenemies for Life on "The Talk"
Jack Hanna showed off the three cheetah cubs recently born at The Wilds, a wildlife park run by the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium. He was on CBS’s The Talk, and wowed the ladies with cheetahs, penguins, chinchillas, and lots of information. The big surprise was that each member of the audience received a free copy of the zoo’s book, Frenemies for Life by John Becker. Check it out here.

September 13, 2010

Frenemies for Life, was featured on Good Morning America (along with Jack Hanna and Reh and Ruth). That evening, the book was shown on The Late Show with David Letterman (again with the Columbus Zoo's animal ambassadors and Jack). You can view the clips by clicking on the linkes below:
The Late Show with David Letterman
Sales of the book shot up on both Amazon.com and BarnesandNoble.com. The most exciting part of all this is that a portion of the sale of each book is going directly to cheetah conservation. Can books make a difference? You bet they can!
