Comments/Reviews
Mugambi (Kenyan for "leader") is a 6 week
old cheetah cub who
safely leads his sisters through the dangerous Serengeti
Plains to find
their mother. In this delightful story, written by Dr. John
Becker and
illustrated by Mark Clapsadle, an array of African animals
is wonderfully
visualized. This hardcover book is written for 3-8 year
olds, and would
make a wonderful Christmas present. It should be available
at your local bookstore for $14.95.
Dr. Becker also has written a series of books on animals,
such as the
bald eagle, who have made comebacks from near extinction.
These
hardbound books are for older children, and can be ordered
at your
favorite bookseller.

==============
"Having worked for many
years with wildlife expert Jack Hanna, John has traveled
throughout the world to observe and write about endangered
animals in their natural habitats. He is also a frequent guest
author in schools, where he teaches children to write
nonfiction and creative stories that focus on the natural
world. Because John writes quality children’s literature that
inspires learning, his work is a terrific fit with our Gingham
Dog Press imprint.”
